I know that times have truly been a challenge, and I think more than ever it is so important to find joy in the little things. I think many of you will be able to relate, that in the past I’ve had a complicated relationship with exercise. Often times I would find myself at the gym with an attitude that leaned much more towards the punishing my body for not being a certain size rather than genuine self care.
One of the best things to come out of this quarantine was finding ways of moving my body that truly feel good and help to heal an old back injury. I have definitely discovered a new appreciation and love for swimming. I was so grateful when the outdoor pools were allowed to open up.
Being in the water, especially with my pink paddle board, is so fun and cathartic. It also helps to have such cute swimsuits to choose from as a plus size person and I love this two piece from Lane Bryant. The bottoms have a great amount of coverage and I felt sexy as well as secure in the top. We love a swimsuit that is both fabulous and functional for actually swimming.
Another form of movement that has been helping tremendously is going for a walk. As simple as it is, it truly is one of the best ways to clear your mind and just have a moment to decompress.
I have been obsessed with the Tie-Dye trend this summer and always love a good romper. It is truly the best to get out and in the fresh air, especially with the beagles. Lady just turned 8 and still LOVES going on walks as much as she did when she was a puppy. Sometimes Graham will take our younger beagle, Remy, for a run and Lady and I get a nice girls walk in.
During our walks in the early mornings or evenings, I usually throw on a cute jean jacket or sweater. It is the best to just enjoy a nice summer breeze and have a moment outside. It has been a joy to find ways of moving my body that genuinely feel good for both my body and spirit.
Sending you babes lots of love and positivity!
